Announcing ANOTHER Donnybrook deco coat

YAY!!

Got it from the same place I got the first one (read the post from October 2010) and, believe it or don't, it was on half-price day, and the coat was half-price.

Enjoy!

these little piggies...

are playing a dice game!

In addition to being the one of the most hysterically funny people I've ever met, and being a world class cook who really ought to have his own show, my husband has a good eye.  When we hit the Quaker City Flea on Saturdays and Sundays, plenty of times I'll blow right by something super mega-worthwhile.  Like the item above.

But he, because he looks at every single thing on ever single table, will pick up on them.

ooh... little Saint Nick

Über-collectible Holt Howard little Saint Nick candle holders!!

Most of my nears and dears know how I feel about Christmas (i.e. I am not a fan), but even I think these little guys are cute.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

From a long out-of-business head shop, a neat wall hanging for your disaffected countercultural decor.  Still has that patchouli (or whatever it was) scent that those shops smelled like.

 Neat, huh?

"He took the bride about the neck..."

but he didn't have a silk scarf with a Shakespeare-inspired print to offer her."

Another fabulous Fifties relic, also found at the teensy-weensy thrift store.

I'm game

HOW

COOL

IS

THIS???

Ultra-vibrant and extra-neato rec room print fabric from the 1950's.

Found at this teeny-weeny little thrift store in my nabe for... well, the sum was so small it's just ridiculous.

It's all an act

Other than my work as a standardized patient, (i.e. playing sick for money*), I haven't done much to share my acting skills with the world in the past few years.

Until I landed a gig in this indie movie, Bucks County (later titled The Bucks County Massacre), in which I play the distraught parent of a son who was killed by a mysterious whatsis.

If Blair Witch ripoffs are up your alley, and/or you like movies where characters drop the F-bomb several times per second, and/or if you wish to see my tragically moving scene (nailed on the first take, thank you very much) give it a look.

*You may remember the Seinfeld ep when Kramer and Mickie got jobs at a medical school (or was it a hospital?) playing patients.  That's what I do.  The program is Clinical Skills, and is intended to teach the students how to ask questions, how to behave with a patient, demeanor, etc. etc. etc.  So far, I've played patients suffering back pain,  patients stuffering crippling dizziness, patients with diabetes or eczema, or bad gallbladder.

It beats being chained to a desk in a cube farm.

merry maids

Oops.  I mean mermaids.

Both the young Sea-Americans above, and the adorable little fowl below came from Quaker City Flea Market.

Spring is late this year.

The fabric of society, Part II

 Roses of blue...
 leaves in colors untrue
 watercolor polished cotton
flower power the last of what we gotten.

For now, that is.  I've only got eight more boxes to go through.
